Meet your therapist

Hi and Thank you for visiting!

My name is Allison Propper-Rosenberg, I am a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern, Certified Mindfulness Practitioner, Yoga Teacher, and a Mother of three, one whom has four legs and fur.

I specializes in working with teens, young adults, and women who are experiencing anxiety, depression, identity exploration, rational challenges, stress and life transitions.

For the past 15 years, I have worked with children, teens and adults in a variety of capacities; as an educator, mindfulness coach, advocate, peer mentor, and addiction’s counselor.  I have leveraged these experiences and has further developed and employed my expertise as a therapist.

In this time, one thing has remained constant in all of my work –my heart and passion for working with people.

What to expect?

If you are considering therapy for the first time, it’s normal to have some uneasiness or apprehension about what it might be like. To set your mind at ease, I wanted to take this chance to share with you what you might expect if you decide to reach out.

Consultation

The first step would be to set up a 20 minute consultation (I offer phone or video – whatever you prefer). You can contact me to set one up or schedule one yourself. This is not a treatment consultation, it’s just a chance for you to share with me what kind of therapist you are looking for, what your current struggles are, and for me to assess if I have the right skill set to meet your needs. I am careful to work within my scope of practice because I want you to receive the best possible treatment. During this consultation we will also discuss logistics such as scheduling, and payment. You do not need to make a commitment either way at the end.

Paper Work Completion

If you decided to work with me, we would schedule an intake appointment. Prior to that appointment, you would need to fill out New Client forms that need to be read and signed before our intake appointment. I understand that life can get busy, so we can reschedule your intake if you are unable to complete the paperwork beforehand.

Intake Session

The intake is longer-than-usual appointment (up to 60 min) in which we will go over your current symptoms, how you are coping, some family history, lifestyle habits and what you would like to get out of therapy.

We will meet either in person or via a HIPAA compliant Zoom telehealth platform.
